Orange Valley is proud to be part of this nation-wide initiative to provide senior residents, especially the vulnerable ones, with a good support network. Conveniently located in close proximity to studio apartment units specially built for elderly residents who are at least 55 years old, Senior Activity Centres encourage the elderly to remain integrated in society through community outreach programmes and social recreational activities. Each studio apartment has an alarm system linked to the centre which can be activated during emergencies. This allows the staff of the Senior Activity Centres to speedily visit and attend to the elderly at their home, should the alarm be sounded.
- Monitor and respond to emergencies of the Alert Alarm System for residents living in the apartment.
- Manage a public social space to facilitate and organise social and recreational activities for the elderly. Such weekly activities include morning exercise, calligraphy, art & craft, line dancing, board games, health talks, health check-ups, excursions etc.
- Assist the elderly in obtaining information on relevant services and subsidy schemes.
- Provide other support services, such as ambulance transfer, laundry, food, diet, physiotherapy and referrals to nursing homes.
