Financial Guidance and Support Options
Planning for long-term care can be a major decision for families. At Orange Valley, we aim to make this process more manageable by sharing transparent information on funding support and financial assistance schemes. Here are the key options available to help with nursing home costs in Singapore:
-
Intermediate and Long-Term Care (ILTC) Subsidies
Administered by the Ministry of Health, these means-tested subsidies support a range of services, including nursing home care, home care, and community-based programmes. Eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who require assistance with daily activities may be eligible for subsidies covering up to 75% of the cost of long-term care. This support is available to both seniors and individuals with long-term care needs due to medical or physical conditions. -
CareShield Life
A national insurance scheme for severe disability, CareShield Life provides monthly payouts to Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents born in 1980 or later. The payouts increase over time and can be used to help cover ongoing care expenses. Those born before 1980 can opt in if eligible. -
MediSave Care
This scheme allows withdrawals of up to $200 per month from the MediSave account of the care recipient or their spouse to support long-term care needs. It is available to Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents aged 30 and above with severe disabilities. -
Interim Disability Assistance Programme for the Elderly (IDAPE)
For seniors born before 1963 who developed severe disabilities before 2002 and are not eligible for CareShield Life or ElderShield, IDAPE provides up to $250 per month to help with care costs. -
ElderFund
This assistance scheme supports Singaporeans aged 30 and above who are severely disabled, have limited savings, low MediSave balances, and do not qualify for other schemes. Eligible individuals may receive up to $250 per month to reduce the cost of long-term care. -
Private and Short-Term Payment Options
Families not eligible for government subsidies can choose from our self-funded care plans with transparent fee structures. Our team is available to guide you through your options and help you prepare in a way that aligns with your care goals and financial circumstances.
If you’re considering long-term care for a loved one, understanding the financial support available can make all the difference. Our team at Orange Valley is here to provide guidance every step of the way.
