SHORT-TERM CARE

Respite Care

What is Respite Care?

Respite Care, also known as short-term care, is temporary supported short-term living at our nursing home. It provides an opportunity for carers to take a break for a few days to weeks at a time. Respite is also available when an elderly is unwell and needs extra care that friends or family can’t provide – for example post-hospitalisation care.

Why We Offer Respite Care?

Orange Valley’s respite care provides the comfort and assurance that your loved ones will be well looked after.

Even if you are able to provide the best care possible for your loved ones, the long-term effects of stress can affect your health and overall well-being. Getting respite care is important for your health and for your ability to continue to provide care for your loved ones. Our well-trained nursing professionals also provide convalescent, stepped-down nursing care, medical consultation, or post-surgery rehabilitation to help recovery and healing process.

Types Of Respite Care

One of the unique facets of respite care is that it provides care designed for the individual circumstances. This means that you can choose from the two types of respite care depending on your needs. Orange Valley offers both Planned Respite and Emergency Respite:

Planned Respite:  Ideal if you are able to foresee when you will require the service.

Example: Caregiver planning for a break or post-hospitalization care is needed

Emergency Respite: Unexpected circumstances in which help is needed urgently.

Example: Caregiver is not well or need to attend to a family emergency.

*Placement is subject to available vacancies at your selected nursing home, and the submission of latest medical records and chest x-rays.

What is Go Respite?

Go Respite is a new pilot programme that encourages caregivers to plan ahead and identify a suitable respite option that is able to meet their needs and those of their loved ones. Caregivers can pre-enrol with their preferred senior care centre or nursing home and complete some necessary pre-admission applications in advance. Orange Valley is a proud partner of Go Respite and all our nursing home branches are participating for this pilot.
